Please note that registration for Summer 2017 Orientation Programs will open Spring 2017
The first step in registration is to view the International Student and Scholar Services website and arrival checklist. Please review and complete these steps in order to complete your arrival on campus.
When registering, you should know any conflicts you have that will prohibit you from fully attending your program - full participation is mandatory for all new students. When you register online or call our office, you will be shown/informed of all available dates. These dates are based on space availability for college advising. Programs fill quickly, so be sure to register online or call as soon as possible for the greatest availability.
First Year programs held in June and July are two days in length and include an overnight stay in an on campus residence hall. Overnight Luggage Check-In is from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM at Denton Hall, and the program begins promptly at 9:00 AM on the first day, and students will end at 2:30 PM on the second day. Please keep these times in mind when making travel arrangements.
Transfer programs held in the summer and first year programs held in late August are both one day in length and do not include an overnight stay on campus. Orientation Program Check-In will begin at 8:00 AM and students will end at 4:00 PM. Please keep these times in mind when making travel arrangements.
After registering, please review our Arrival Guide for important accomodation and dietary information, placement test details, directions to campus, and to download both your Parking Permit and Immunization Form prior to arrival.
The program fee is $176.00 for a two-day program and $116.00 for a one-day program. This fee covers all costs associated with the program including breakfast, lunch, staffing, materials and logistics. The charge is a per-person fee for all participants. New Student Orientation programs at the University of Maryland include a program fee because the Orientation Office receives no funding from the university or the state. The fees associated with our program are charged directly to your student account. Please do not send payment to the Orientation Office.
