In response to continued concerns regarding COVID-19
, on April 7, 2020, the University of Maryland, College Park made the challenging and difficult decision to host our New Student Orientation program completely online for Summer 2020. Out of an abundance of caution for both the UMD community, as well as our incoming class and their family members we believe this is the best approach to prepare the incoming class for their transition to UMD and keep everyone safe.
WHAT WILL ONLINE NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION LOOK LIKE?
All components of our online New Student Orientation are required for all new students. Your online New Student Orientation experience will provide you with opportunities to build community virtually, help you learn about being a student at UMD, and guide you through your academic advising and course registration process.
Students who have already registered for one of our in-person orientation programs will not need to re-register for a new orientation date
While the method of presenting our orientation has changed, our office is still dedicated to providing all incoming students with an informative and welcoming quality program.
