School of Public Policy (PLCY)

The School of Public Policy is the connection point for citizens, communities, organizations, and governments to work together to foster meaningful change.  We develop leaders in the art of policy and governance, engage in and advance an applied interdisciplinary approach, and promote public good from local to global.

Students apply their knowledge through required experiential learning (internships, faculty-led research, and/or study abroad).

Academic Programs

Bachelor’s Master's Plus-1 Program allows eligible students to earn the two degrees in less than six years.  Students benefit from the in-depth and multi-lens understanding of society and the policy world that is explored in our bachelor's program, and gain the analytical and professional tools in our master's program needed to launch their careers solving pressing policy challenges.

The advising team takes a holistic, student-centered approach that promotes scholastic, social, and emotional development by employing a caseload model.

All students are required to satisfy at least one mandatory advising meeting per semester with their assigned advisor during the early registration period; however students are encouraged to meet with their advisors as often as needed.”

Students can log into TerpEngage to schedule an appointment with the academic advisor on their Success Team.

The School of Public Policy has its own Career Services team to guide students through the stages of professional development from employment applications to salary negotiations.
