Office of Student Orientation and Transition 

Our mission at the Office of Student Orientation and Transition is to facilitate the orientation, transition, and retention of all undergraduate students during their first year at University of Maryland, College Park.

New Student Orientation (NSO) at UMD seeks to prepare students for academic and social engagement as members of the Terp community. Through our orientation and transition programs, we aim to provide information and experiences that will support students and their family members in their transition to college and to UMD. 

The Office of Student Orientation and Transition is housed in Undergraduate Studies and serves all incoming undergraduate students.
