Meet the UNIV100 Transition Mentors!

UNIV100 Transition Mentor Program

UNIV100 Transition Mentors (TMs, formerly UNIV100 Teaching Assistants) serve as co-instructors and mentors within a UNIV100 section. They are considered student leaders and foundational members of the Office of Student Orientation and Transition. 

 

UNIV100 TMs are trained by the office of Student Orientation and Transition in leadership development, communication skills, helping skills, and educational pedagogy to help them form meaningful relationships with incoming first-year students while co-facilitating a section of UNIV100 with a professional staff member at UMD.

MEET THE FALL 2025 UNIV100 Transition Mentors

Meet the UNIV100 Transition Council and Transition Mentors (TMs) that will assist you in UNIV100! 

The UNIV 100 Transition Council provides support to the UNIV100 Transition Mentor Program within the Office of Student Orientation & Transition. In addition to serving as mentors for UNIV100 TMs, Transition Council members are considered student leaders and influential members of the Office of Student Orientation & Transition Team.  Each member of the Transition Council coordinate a specific aspect of the UNIV100 TM Program, such as Recruitment & Selection, Peer supervision, Training and Leadership Development, and Serving as a Teaching Assistant to the incoming cohort.
